The Certified Lean IT Framework Architect - CLIFA™ framework empowers IT organizations to deliver superior service by focusing intensely on customer value. By analyzing the processes that deliver this value and fostering the right organizational attitude, IT teams can develop a sustainable continuous improvement mindset. This certification is designed to complement existing best practices, providing a fundamental understanding of how to identify and eliminate waste within an IT context. Candidates will explore the core Lean philosophy, learn to measure performance accurately, and gain the practical skills needed to apply these principles to real-world IT challenges.

The Certified Lean IT Framework Architect - CLIFA™ is a foundational credential awarded by ITQMA to professionals who have demonstrated core competency in project frameworks.

Exam Information

The exam comprises of 40 Multiple Choice Questions out of which the candidate needs to score 70% (28 out of 40 correct) to pass the exam.

The total duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 Minutes).

  • The exam is conducted in AI-proctored mode and can be taken anytime, anywhere within an eight-month validity period.
  • Upon purchasing the Premium Package or an Exam Voucher Code, a voucher code with two attempts will be assigned to your login profile under the "My Vouchers" tab. You can then take the exam through the "My Exam(s)" tab in your profile. To take the exam, simply apply the voucher code.

  • The Exam Voucher included in the Premium Package or purchased separately is valid for two (2) attempts. If you are unable to pass the exam within these two attempts, you can purchase a new voucher code, which will grant you an additional two attempts.
  • Kindly Note: The voucher will not be valid for a second attempt if you pass the exam on your first attempt.

The CLIFA™ Certificate is valid for life.

Note: CLIFA™ Certification has no pre-requisites (Completion of an E-Course is not mandatory from ITQMA), but we highly recommend doing the E-Course as maximum number of questions are drawn from the E-Course in the actual exam.

  • Understand and be able to identify the concept of waste
  • Learn about and how to apply Lean analytical tools
  • What is and how to apply A3 Thinking
  • What is and how to apply the cycle of continuous improvement: Plan-Do-Check-Act
  • Go Look and See (fact not emotion)

  • Value Stream Mapping
  • What is the concept of “Kaizen” (System, Process, Activity)
  • Standardize Work Practices
  • What is and how to apply 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Kanban Model
  • Case Study
  • Visual Workplace (eliminate visual and mental noise)

  • Be able to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for your organization
  • Be able to initiate, document, and implement process improvements

Target Audience

Any roles from service desk analysts through to process owners, team leads and supervisors, department managers and also including CIOs, have taken this course and benefited greatly from a deeper understanding of how to assess business processes to identify and eliminate waste. This exam is designed for managers or IT professionals working in organizations that would benefit from adopting a Lean approach. It is recommended that candidates have a background of 2 to 3 years’ experience in the field of IT service management.
